Apple has announced that on January 1st, 2015, value-added tax (VAT) rates for apps will change for all territories in the European Union.
Starting next year VAT charges will be based on your country of residence rather than being the same for all EU countries. This could mean higher or lower app prices depending on your location.
Apple also notes that developers’ proceeds are calculated after VAT is deducted from the app’s price.

The young girl has re-recorded the song singing and playing alongside the original, bringing her grandmother to tears.

Apple has halted online sales in Russia due to ‘extreme’ ruble fluctuations, reports Bloomberg.
The iPhone and iPad maker stopped sales from its Web store as Russia’s currency lost as much as 19 percent today, with a surprise interest-rate increase failing to stem a run on the currency. The ruble briefly sank beyond 80 per dollar, and bonds and stocks also tumbled.
“Our online store in Russia is currently unavailable while we review pricing,” Alan Hely, a spokesman for the Cupertino, California-based company, wrote in an e-mail today. “We apologize to customers for any inconvenience.”
