- New Drone Video Shows Apple Has Started Building the Structure of Apple Campus 2 [Watch]

A new drone video has surfaced that shows Apple has started building the structure of Apple Campus 2, it’s new headquarters in Cupertino, California.
Late last month Apple submitted revised plans for Phase 2 of construction to the City of Cupertino. They requested approval of an Architectural and Site approval and a Tree Removal Permit to refine the phase 2 portion of Apple’s previously approved office, research and development campus.
When Apple Campus 2 opens in 2016, it will feature over 700 base isolators to prevent structural and architectural damage, making it the largest base-isolated building in the world. It will also cover 176 acres, exceed 2.8-million square feet, and accommodate over 12,000 staff.

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTube - President Obama Urges FCC to Protect Net Neutrality, Reclassify Internet as a Utility [Video]

President Obama today asked the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to take steps to protect net neutrality and reclassify consumer broadband services as a utility.
Obama is calling for the strongest possible rules to protect net neutrality and said that Internet service providers should tread all Internet traffic equally. His plan would reclassify Internet access under Title II of the Telecommunications Act. This would serve as a “basic acknowledgement of the services ISPs provide to American homes and businesses, and the straightforward obligations necessary to ensure the network works for everyone – not just one or two companies.”
Here’s the four key steps of Obama’s Plan:

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTube - New Apple Tool Lets You Deregister Your Phone Number From iMessage

Apple has posted a new tool that lets you deregister your phone number from iMessage.
You may need to turn off iMessage if you are now using a non-Apple phone and can’t get SMS or text messages someone sends you from an iPhone.
The tool resolves an issue with Apple’s messaging system that manifests when switching from iOS to another operating system while keeping the same number. Often Apple’s system doesn’t recognize that your number is no longer associated with an iOS device. Consequently, messages from other iOS users are still sent via iMessage, which can’t be received on the new device, resulting in a large number of unreceived SMS messages.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation explains that currently, requests to keep jailbreaking and unlocking legal must be made every three years.

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) limits the circumvention of software that’s designed to restrict access to copyrighted works. Unfortunately, such a blanket restriction can chill competition, free speech, and fair use. In an attempt to mitigate those harms, every three years the U.S. Copyright Office holds a rulemaking proceeding to consider exemptions to this rule.
