Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTube - FCC Rule Change Could Finally Pave the Way for a Real Apple TV

FCC chair Tom Wheeler has asked the commission to start a rulemaking proceeding that would make Internet TV finally happen, paving the way for a real Apple television.
Wheeler says that similar to how Congress mandated access to cable channels for satellite services, it should extend the concept to providers of Internet-based services.
Consumers have long complained about how their cable service forces them to buy channels they never watch. The move of video onto the Internet can do something about that frustration – but first Internet video services need access to the programs. Today the FCC takes the first step to open access to cable programs as well as local television. The result should be to give consumers more alternatives from which to choose so they can buy the programs they want.

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTube - Apple Reportedly In Talks to Sell iPhone in Iran

Apple is in preliminary talks with Iranian distributors to sell the iPhone in the country, should Western sanctions easy sufficiently, according to the Wall Street Journal. According to the report, senior Apple officials have met with Iranian distributors at the company’s regional headquarters in London .
In the conversations, the Cupertino, Calif., company explored the possibility of having Iranian partners sell Apple products at so-called premium resellers, three of the people said. Instead of company-operated Apple stores, such outlets would be midsize franchisees that sell Apple products only, ?a model the company has used in Europe and Asia, the people said.
Apple would be allowed to export its iPhone to Iran because of a U.S. decision in May to lift sanctions that had barred the sale of consumer communications technologies in Iran.
