Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTube - Apple Campus 2 Will Be the Largest Base-Isolated Building in the World

When Apple Campus 2 opens in 2016, it will feature over 700 base isolators to prevent structural and architectural damage, notes the company in an internal employee site. The memo, which was sent to iClarified, highlights lead structural engineer John Worley’s efforts in making a virtually ‘earthquake proof’ building.

There will be more to the stunning Apple Campus 2 than meets the eye. One of the most fascinating—and important—elements of the building will be 3 levels under your feet.AC2 will sit on top of 700 base isolators. These elements, which are structurally attached to the foundation, are designed to prevent structural and architectural damage during a seismic event.
“The whole idea behind base isolation is that during a seismic event it releases the building from the ground motion,” says John Worley, the lead structural engineer on AC2.

Parts for the alleged iPad Air 2 have been leaked by Apple.club.tw including a logic board, home button flex cable, front panel, and volume control flex cable.
Most notable is that the processor on the logic board appears to be an A8X chip as previously rumored. MacRumors forum user primordian was able to enhance the contrast on the main chip to reveal the A8X label. In the past Apple has used “X” versions of its chips with enhanced graphics for the iPad. However, for the iPad Air, it used an A7 chip that was clocked slightly faster than the A7 in the iPhone 5s.

Ahead of OS X Yosemite’s October launch, Apple is rolling out an updated iTunes 12 Store that brings a cleaner, flatter look.
At first, users will noticed the new iTunes 12 Store takes many design cues from iOS 7. Apple has brought a flat look that does away with shadows and textures. For instance, Apple has gotten rid of its ‘card stye’ layout for featured content in favor of new flat tiles. Thinner fonts have also been introduced to match OS X Yosemite’s.

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTube - Bose and Apple Settle Patent Dispute Over Noise-Canceling Technology in Beats Headphones

Bose and Apple have settled a patent dispute over the noise-canceling technology in Beats headphones, reports Bloomberg.
Bose and Beats in joint filings told a U.S. court in Delaware they’ve settled their claims, and asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to terminate its investigation. Bose in July had petitioned the trade agency to block imports of Beats Studio and Beats Studio Wireless headphones over claims the company used its inventions without paying. Its lawsuit in Wilmington, Delaware, made the same claims.
Just yesterday it was reported that Apple plans to remove all Bose products from its retail stores. The move may have resulted from the litigation. It also follows a Bose deal with the NFL that bans players from wearing Apple Beats headphones on camera.
