Apple has pushed the ‘Apple Events’ channel to the Apple TV for live streaming of the WWDC 2014 keynote.
The keynote takes place today at 10:00AM PT / 1:00PM ET. If you are unable to watch it you can follow along in our live blog.

Photos have leaked online showing what is allegedly Apple’s next generation operating system for Mac.
The photos were originally posted to imgur and announced in this reddit thread, the title of which reads, “The new OSX 🙂 I took these photos myself at Apple in California.”
It’s unclear how exactly the photos were obtained; however, the reddit moderator was apparently able to verify the authenticity of the poster.

P0sixspwn can jailbreak iOS 6.1.3, 6.1.4, 6.1.5 and now 6.1.6 devices. There is also an untether package available on Cydia for those currently on 6.1.x but have a tethered jailbreak.

People who live in tech hubs such as the Bay Area or New York prefer Apple’s iOS over Google’s Android OS, according to data gathered by Crittercism (via Recode), a mobile application management company.
The study found that those in living in San Francisco, New York and San Diego are among the cities where users are most likely to own an iPhone, whereas those in cities such like San Antonio, Phoenix and Detroit are most likely to own an Android device. The data came from an analysis of performance data from over a billion of its active users worldwide.
While the firm’s data suggests that Apple mobile devices are far more popular than Android competitors in some major American metro areas, Android still leads the U.S. in overall share of the mobile market.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple has more plans for its iBeacon technology, which it will unveil at its WWDC starting Monday. Apple will also be placing iBeacon transmitters across Moscone Center (WWDC Venue) in an effort to promote the technology to developers.
Apple is expected to reveal more iBeacon plans at its World Wide Developers Conference in San Francisco starting Monday, where it also intends to preview new versions of its iOS mobile-operating system and Mac OSX software. To promote iBeacon, Apple will place beacons throughout Moscone Center and offer sessions for developers on how to implement the technology.
Apple has moved forward cautiously with iBeacon due to privacy concerns of being tracked, however Apple claims the transmitters do not track users as they only send out a signal, not receive.

Apple is giving WWDC attendees this year $25 App Store gift cards as well as WWDC14 Jackets (via Apfelearth). The gift cards are worth $25 since its the 25th WWDC, and the ’25 years and coding’ tagline is printed right under the WWDC logo when opening the envelope.
Developers are also getting a WWDC jackets with the number 14 printed on the back of the jacket and WWDC14 printed on the front. The jackets are also made in the USA for the first time.
Both the jacket and gift card are given to attendees when they check in, as well as a badge with their name on it.

Nearly 90% of iPhones in the U.S. and Canada are running iOS 7, according to the latest study by Chitika Insights.
The company looked at iOS-based online ad impressions from May 22 through May 28, 2014.
Nearly 90% of U.S. and Canadian iPhone Web traffic is generated by users running some version of iOS 7. This share represents an increase of 5.4 percentage points since our February study on the subject.

Google is set to launch Android TV at its Google I/O developer conference that takes place June 25–26, 2014 in San Francisco, reports GigaOm.
Android TV won’t be another device, instead it will be a platform that companies can use to bring streaming services to their televisions and set-top boxes. At least initially, Android TV is said to be all about online media services and Android video games, rather than trying to marry existing pay TV services with apps.
Google has been partnering with various services such as Netflix and Hulu for the launch. It’s also expected to announce a few hardware partners.

In their latest video, RatedRR filled a new Mac Pro with enough C4 to generate a massive explosion.
C4 has a detonation velocity of 8,092 m/s (26,550 ft/s). The explosive in C4 is RDX which makes up around 91% of C4 by mass.
To set off the explosion, RatedRR used detonating cord, a thin flexible plastic tube filled with PETN. The PETN explodes at a rate of about 4 miles per second. It’s a high speed fuse which explodes, rather than burns.
