- Analyst Details Specs for the iPhone 6, Says Apple Could Move Sleep/Wake Button to Side

In his Apple roadmap research note, KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo details specifications for the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 and reveals that Apple may move the sleep/wake button to facilitate one-handed operation on the larger devices.
Kuo says that Apple will first release the 4.7-inch model featuring a 1334×750 326ppi display. That’s the same aspect ratio as the current iPhone 5s. The 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will get a 1920×1080 screen at 401ppi, also the same aspect ratio.
The iPhone 6 is predicted to have a new A8 processor, 1GB of RAM, a bezel that is 10 to 20% narrower, a thickness of 6.5-7.0mm (iPhone 5s is 7.6mm thick), and a NFC chip. The camera will remain 8MP with a f2.2 aperture; however, optical image stabilization will improve image quality without increasing pixel count.

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTube - Apple to Release Plethora of New Products in Q3 Including iWatch in Two Sizes, 4.7-inch iPhone, More?

KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reports that Apple is set to release a plethora of new products in Q3 including revamped iPad Air and iPad mini tablets, the much anticipated iWatch in two sizes, a new 4.7-inch iPhone 6, an upgraded Apple TV, an all-new 12-inch MacBook and updates to the MacBook Pro lineup! Apple is also said to be updating the iMac in Q2 and releasing a larger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 before the holidays.
“We believe the rumored iWatch will be Apple’s most important product this year, carrying much more weight than iPhone 6,” Kuo writes, adding, “as market feedback for the product should reveal whether Apple still has the ability to continue making game-changing products with Tim Cook at the helm.”
Kuo believes that Apple’s competition in the sector could be fashion brands rather than tech companies if the iWatch is successful. Kuo also said Apple’s success hinges on five key factors: replacement demand from larger iPhones; whether the new iPads’ minor upgrades will carry momentum in 2014; whether the all-new 12-inch MacBook Air will redefine the notebook user experience; how much low-price iMac can boost overall shipments; and App Store availability on Apple TV.

Facebook is turning off messaging in its main app to force users onto the FaceBook Messenger app, notes TechCrunch.
Notifications about the change are going out to some users in Europe starting today, and they’ll have about two weeks and see multiple alerts before the requirement to download Messenger kicks in. Eventually, all Facebook users will get migrated to this new protocol. And you can bet some users are going to be angry.
When asked for comment, Facebook referred to Zuckerberg’s comment on the matter back in November:

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTube - T-Mobile Announces New $40/Month Simple Starter Plan With 500MB of Data

T-Mobile has announced the first of three new initiatives, a Simple Starter value plan that offers unlimited talk and text and up to 500MB 4G LTE data and tethering for $40 a month. The plan launches on April 12th and is directed to value-conscious wireless customers, promising absolutely no data overages.
“Un-carrier is a movement, not a marketing strategy. We are freeing consumers from the predatory practices of traditional US wireless companies and that includes these plans that start with a low price and a low data limit, but then hit you with insane fees if you send one too many emails,” said John Legere, president and CEO of T-Mobile. “It’s wrong! And I personally want to drive those ridiculous schemes out of this industry. We will continue to be relentless and bring this forced march of change to the market every day so consumers can be creative with and enjoy the true benefits of wireless. I know we have it right and when we all are done reporting results from the first quarter – I think you’ll share my conviction.”
If you hit the 500MB, T-Mobile will prompt you to purchase a day or week pass or switch to a Simple Choice plan.
