- StoreDot Charges Smartphone Battery in 30 Seconds [Video]

At the Microsoft Think Next conference in Tel Aviv, StoreDot unveiled a prototype charger that can recharge your smartphone battery in 30 seconds, reports the WSJ. The Israeli startup was born out of the nanotechnology department at Tel Aviv University. The initial prototype was developed for the Galaxy S4; however, the company plans to make chargers for other devices as well.
StoreDot has been developing biological semiconductors, made from naturally occurring organic compounds called peptides, or short chains of amino acids, the building blocks of proteins. The technology can be used, among other things, to speed charging times, the company says.
The prototype charger is around the size of a laptop charger; however, StoreDot is working on reducing its size. Production is planned for late 2016 and the charger is expected to cost twice that of an average phone charger.

Leaked documents and screenshots obtained by The Verge reveal that Google is about to launch a new television effort called Android TV.
“Android TV is an entertainment interface, not a computing platform,” writes Google. “It’s all about finding and enjoying content with the least amount of friction.” It will be “cinematic, fun, fluid, and fast.”
Unlike Google TV, Android TV is more similar to the Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, and Roku. It’s less ambitious and simpler. The interface consists of a set of scrolling cards that represent movies, tv shows, apps, or games. You can scroll left or right through suggestions or up and down through categories. The controller has enter, home, and back buttons for navigation and the device will support “optional” game controllers.

WTFJeans has launched the third version of its jeans with a pocket for your iPhone, bringing new liquid repelling and anti-radiation features.
The jeans have been completely redesigned, inside and out. The wtfPocket is inside the jeans now for a better look, and it’s lower on the thigh making it easier to get your iPhone in and out. The company abandoned the USB pocket feature because “we all use the cloud now”, and added pockets for your hands.
WTFJeans says it also improved the little details like choosing an original design with orange thread and a wild stitching pattern for the internal parts of the jeans, matching orange print, using a different colored thread on the outside of the jeans, and even making a custom branded set of buttons, with a wide concave top button to make it even easier to grab and put your jeans on, and to take them off quickly.

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTube - Steve Jobs Email Reveals Apple Considered Apps, Browser, and Magic Wand for the Apple TV 2

An email that surfaced in the latest Apple vs. Samsung trial reveals that Apple was considering adding apps, a browser, and a magic wand to the Apple TV 2.
The Verge obtained the 2010 email from Steve Jobs that went over topics for a secret Top 100 meeting where Apple discussed strategies for the upcoming year with its top employees.
“Where do we go from here?” says one of the bullet points, followed by “apps, browser” and “magic wand?” as possible options. However, those suggestions could be just be riffing. In testimony in a San Jose court earlier today, marketing chief Phil Schiller noted that items from this email were just an outline, and not necessarily set in stone for the confab. That includes mention of 2011 being the “holy war with Google.” In this case, the Apple TV 2 presentation is described as an opportunity to discuss the the company’s plans to “stay in the living room game and make a great ‘must have’ accessory for iOS devices.”
