Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTube - FCC Chairman Voices Concerns Over Verizon's Plan to Throttle Unlimited 4G LTE Customers
Last week Verizon Wireless announced that it would begin throttling 4G LTE unlimited data customers in October. Verizon said that the top 5% of data users (4.7GB+) would see speeds throttled when they were connected to a cell site that was experiencing a heavy load.
Verizon’s implementation of ‘network optimization’ does not sit well with FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler who has written a letter to the company on the matter. In his letter, Wheeler says he is ‘deeply troubled’ by Verizon plans to throttle customers.
“Reasonable network management” concerns the technical management of your network; it is not
a loophole designed to enhance your revenue streams. It is disturbing to me that Verizon Wireless would base its “network management” on distinctions among its customers’ data plans, rather than on network architecture or technology.

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTube - Next-Generation Apple TV Delayed Until 2015?
Those waiting for a revamped Apple TV this year might be disappointed to hear that the latest report from The Information claims Apple’s plans have hit a wall. According to sources close to the project, an overhauled Apple TV may not debut until 2015.
Engineers working on the project have been informed the product will not launch in 2014, primarily due to content negotiations going on between Apple and Cable companies. The Information cites cable companies are ‘dragging their heals’ on incorporating content into the next-generation Apple TV.
Apple engineers who are working on aspects of the device have been told by their bosses not to expect a launch this year and are working off timelines that assume a launch next year, according to a person familiar with the plans. Apple employees have cited cable companies “dragging their heels” and the pending Comcast-Time Warner Cable merger as reasons the device and accompanying TV service haven’t launched.

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTube - Crazy Cult to Picket Apple's Headquarters on August 12th
The Westboro Baptist Church, an insane cult that is widely described as a ‘hate group’, will picket Apple’s headquarters on August 12th from 1:15 – 1:45 PM. Westboro Baptist Church often protests military and celebrity funerals as well as public events because of people’s tolerance to homosexuality.
Here’s what they have to say about Apple and Steve Jobs:
Apple and many of its customers revere Steve Jobs as a creative genius and technology god. WRONG: he was a rich, proud fool who now inhabits hell. God sent Steve Jobs a warning in the form of cancer. It was discovered in time for him to repent and ask the Lord to heal him, but as an idolatrous buddhist, he sought out other inventions.Truly, Steve Jobs was formed in his mother’s womb to create these Apple products so that Westboro Baptist Church can use them today to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTube - Russia Asks Apple to Hand Over iOS and Mac Source Code
Russia is requesting that Apple hands over its source code used in its products to ensure iOS and Mac devices are not being used for government surveillance programs. The request was reportedly made last week when the Communications Minister Nikolai Nikiforov met with Apple’s general manager in Russia, Peter Engrob Nielsen.
“Edward Snowden’s revelations in 2013 and U.S. intelligence services’ public statements about the strengthening of surveillance of Russia in 2014 have raised a serious question of trust in foreign software and hardware,” Nikiforov said in the statement on Tuesday.
“Obviously, companies which disclose the source code of their programmes are not hiding anything, but those who do not intend to establish cooperation with Russia on this issue may have undeclared capabilities in their products,” Nikiforov said.
