Pangu Team Releases First Jailbreak for the New Apple TV

Pangu Team has released the first jailbreak for the new Apple TV 4.Please note that the jailbreak just works on tvOS 9.0-9.0.1, so if you’ve already updated you won’t be able to jailbreak your device.Currently, the jailbreak only provides SSH access to the Apple TV for developers. However, it likely won’t be long before we see some packages and perhaps an installer for tweaks.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

AT&T Now Lets You Use Wi-Fi Calling When Traveling Outside the United States

AT&T is now letting customers use Wi-Fi calling when traveling outside the United States, according to a text message sent to customers. This means that you can make and receive phone calls at no additional charge when traveling abroad, as long as you’re on a Wi-Fi network. Text Messages (SMS) can also be sent/received over Wi-Fi. Previously, Wi-Fi calling was limited to the United States. With the latest software update for your phone you can use Wi-Fi Calling when traveling outside the U.S. This means you can call back to the U.S. or receive incoming calls, with no airtime charges. When you call international numbers, your rates will be the same as those in your smartphone plan or your international package. It seems that international support is limited to iOS 9.3, but it remains unclear if that is the case as previous version of iOS supported AT&T Wi-Fi calling. AT&T has also updated its Wi-Fi calling webpage indicating support for international calling. While Wi-Fi calling is available in most countries, AT&T notes that the service will not available in China, Saudi Arabia, India, Turkey, Israel, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Pakistan, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, and Syria.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Apple in ‘Advanced Talks’ to Acquire Imagination Technologies for Its PowerVR GPUs

Apple is in ‘advanced talks’ to acquire Imagination Technologies for its line of PowerVR GPUs, reports ArsTechnica. The PowerVR GPUs have been used in Apple’s A series SoCs since the A4 and Apple already owns at least 9.5% of the company.Notably, Imagination Technologies recently announced numerous restructuring initiatives. The company says it will divest or shut down non-core and/or cash consuming units as well as further reduce overheads to focus on current strengths in its core three businesses; graphics and multimedia (PowerVR), processing (MIPS) and connectivity (Ensigma). Imagination also says it expects to reduce the Group’s headcount around the world by 200 people as part of these cost-cutting measures. This is in addition to the 150 headcount reduction resulting from the first restructuring announcement on 8 February 2016. However, Imagination is actively seeking to fill over 50 roles in its PowerVR business as part of its program to further strengthen this business.Acquiring Imagination Technologies would make sense for Apple. In 2008, it acquired PA Semi, a fabless chip design company which led to Apple designing its own CPU cores for the A-series SoCs starting with the A6. If Apple would move GPU design in-house it could gain control over the design of the GPUs in its devices leading to performance benefits, cost savings, and competitive advantages.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here
