Apple Launches Updated Siri Website Full of Example Requests

You can ask Siri to show you the Orion constellation or to flip a coin. Siri works hands-free, so you can ask it to show you the best route home and what your ETA is while driving. And it’s connected to the world, working with Wikipedia, Yelp, Rotten Tomatoes, Shazam, and other online services to get you even more answers. The more you use Siri, the more you’ll realize how great it is. And just how much it can do for you.Hit the link below to check out the new site and see many example requests you can ask of Siri.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Apple Has Stealthily Acquired the Dryft Keyboard App

Last year, Apple acquired Dryft, a company that makes keyboard apps, according to TechCrunch. The acquisition seemed to be confirmed by Randy Marsden’s LinkedIn profile, which lists him as joining Apple last September. Marsden, the chief technology officer of Dryft and also a co-founder of Swype, now leads development for Apple’s internal keyboard efforts. Whether Apple acquired Dryft for its assets or its talent in Marsden and others, we’re not exactly sure. Financial terms of the deal weren’t available. When asked to comment on the acquisition, Apple gave its usual reply that it buys smaller technology companies from time to time and does not generally discuss its purpose or plans. This is seen as an indirect way of saying yes.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Twitter Updates Trends Experience on Mobile, Retires #Discover and Activity Screens

Twitter has announced updates to Trends on mobile and the retiring of the Discover and Activity screens. We know that trends aren’t always self-explanatory, so now you’ll see a description below each trend. Since trends tend to be abbreviations without context, like #NYFW, a description will make it clear that this trend is about New York Fashion Week. The new trends experience may also include how many Tweets have been sent and whether a topic is trending up or down.As part of this change, we’re moving trends to the search page and retiring #discover and activity for all iOS and Android users. We’ve been working to make content easier to find over the last several months in places like your home timeline – with recaps and Tweets from within your network – and through efforts like MagicRecs. We’ll continue to make improvements like these in the future. Apple Human Interface Chief Details Insane Amount of Work That Went Into the Apple Watch

Alan Dye, Apple’s Human Interface Chief, sat down with Wired in an interview to discuss the level of detail that went in to designing certain UI elements of the Apple Watch, including the customizable watch faces.Dye first talked about what makes Apple’s human interface team so unique and talented. He echoes Steve Jobs’ belief on the importance of details. “It’s not that big a secret,” he says. “We have a group of people who are really, really super-talented, but they really care. They care about details that a designer might not show in his portfolio because it’s so arcane. And yet getting it right is so critical to the experience.”Dye also explained the insane amount of work that went into designing some of the watch faces, including Motion, which shows a flower blooming. Dye notes that Motion faces are actually photographs and not CGI.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here
