Apple Has Spent $38 Million in TV Ads for the Apple Watch Since March 9th

Apple has spent $38 million advertising the Apple Watch on television since its March 9th event, according to iSpot.tv via Reuters.iSpot.tv tracks U.S. TV ads and digital responses. It found that the “Watch Reimagined” campaign has cost the company about $38 million thus far. That’s just a little less than the $42 million Apple has spent in TV advertising for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus over the past five months.”The iPhone 6 was a barn burner from the get-go. But with the Apple Watch, which is new product category with less familiarity, it makes sense that they’d go after it with more intensity,” said JMP analyst Alex Gauna.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Android Wear for iOS is Nearly Finished

Google is almost finished getting its Android Wear smartwatch platform working with the iPhone, reports The Verge. If Apple approves the app it will put Android smartwatches in direct competition with the Apple Watch. In its current state of development, Android Wear works along with a companion app on the iPhone and supports basic functions like notifications — as you can see in the photo below. As it does on Android, on the iPhone Android Wear also supports Google Now’s ambient information cards, voice search, and other voice actions. It should also support some more advanced features with Google’s own iOS apps, like replying to Gmail messages.Android Wear devices have already been hacked to work with the iPhone so there’s no question it’s possible. Late last year, Android Wear product manager Jeff Change told the Huffington Post, “We always want as many users as possible to enjoy our experience, so in terms of enabling more people to use Android Wear we’re very interested in making that happen.” However, Apple has a policy of refusing apps or metadata that mentions the name of any other mobile platform. Whether it could refuse the app without drawing the ire of regulators is unlikely; however, it would probably drag its feet as long as possible, especially during the launch of the Apple Watch.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Reviews of the New 12-Inch Retina MacBook [Video]

Apple has lifted the embargo on reviews of the new 12-inch Retina MacBook. Here’s a look at what early reviewers thought of the notebook. The Verge:Here’s a crazy surprise I didn’t expect: my 13-inch MacBook Air felt big and clunky after I went back to it. And make no mistake, the MacBook Air is itself a wonder of engineering. Yet compared to the new MacBook it felt like a heavy, kind of ugly throwback with a mediocre screen. I really didn’t want to go back to that Air. But I still went back. You see, the problem with the future is that it isn’t here yet. Instead we live in the now, and the now doesn’t have the ecosystem of adapters and wireless peripherals I need to use this laptop with its single port. The now doesn’t have the right processor to power through the apps I need without ruining battery life. And right now, this laptop is far from cheap at $1,299. But if history is any guide, all of those problems will go away — and more quickly than you probably expect. When they do, I’ll be using this MacBook. The MacBook. Hurry up, future. Hurry the hell up.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here
