Apple Reportedly Working to End Free Music Streaming Tiers

The Department of Justice is looking into Apple’s business practices in relation to its upcoming music streaming service, reports the The Verge. According to multiple sources, Apple has been pushing major music labels to end licensing of free songs on music streaming services like Spotify. By reducing the amount of music offered on freemium services, Apple hopes to increase the demand of their upcoming streaming service, which is rumored to be announced at WWDC. DOJ officials have already interviewed high-ranking music industry executives about Apple’s alleged business practices. One source claimed that Apple has even offered to pay YouTube’s music licensing fee to Universal Music Group if the label stopped streaming its songs on YouTube. “All the way up to Tim Cook, these guys are cutthroat,” one source said. If Apple can convince the labels to pull their music from free streaming services, then it could severely hurt the competition. According to the New York Post, Apple is also being probed by the European Union’s Competition Commission regarding this same case. Apple Watch Causes Skin Irritation, Allergic Reactions for Some Users [Photos]

The Apple Watch is causing skin irritation, possibly due to an allergic reaction, for a few customers, reports the Italian site iSpazio. The news isn’t particularly surprising, considering there are some people allergic to the materials the various bands are made out of.For example, reddit user maserrano reported contact dermatitis due to the fluoroelastomer band/sport watch a few days ago:”Has anyone else suffered skin irritation because of the band/watch? I don’t wear mine too tightly, and I make sure it doesn’t stay wet in there after workouts, but I’m definitely dealing with an allergic reaction of some kind. I just got off of the phone with an Apple rep, who took information from me for about 20 minutes, including photos of the irritation and a medical history (all of this voluntary, at least partially for research purposes).”Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Shipping Estimates for Every 42mm Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport Slip to July

Apple appears to be running out of supply of the 42mm Apple Watch. Shipping estimates for every model of the Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport have now been pushed back to July.Previously, many 42mm models had a shipping date of 4-6 weeks out or June. Now the online Apple Store indicates that every single variation of the 42mm Apple Watch and Apple Watch Sport won’t ship until July. The delay is notable considering Tim Cook just announced that Apple was hoping to expand the sale of the Apple Watch to other countries in late June.
