Apple’s next generation Apple TV will include a revamped remote featuring touch pad controls, reports the New York Times. The revamped remote will be “slightly thicker” than the current version, according to an employee briefed on the device. The reported touch pad can be used for scrolling and navigation and there will also be two other buttons on the remote. According to the source, the remote is about the same size as the remote for Amazon’s wireless speaker, the Echo. The new remote will likely replace the current circular-click wheel remote that ships with the Apple TV. While rumors have been circulating for years now on a revamped Apple TV, this could be the year that we finally get an overhauled Apple TV. The device is expected to be unveiled at WWDC in June featuring an updated design, the latest A8 chip, an improved operating system with App Store, and Siri. Apple has reportedly been in negotiations with TV networks on some sort of bundle that will go along with the device. The hardware for the leather Apple Watch band can be retrofitted with third-party bands, notes Unbox Therapy. Using a pentalobe screwdriver you can disassemble the connector and slide on your own band!Keep in mind, this customization will only work if you’re starting with the Apple Watch featuring the leather band (Classic Buckle or Modern Buckle). If you’re in the market for an Apple Watch I’d recommend buying the classic or modern buckle, therefore you won’t be trapped in the Apple Watch strap ecosystem. Careful with the pentalobe screws. they are tiny!Take a look at the video below for more details…Share Article:Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Email, Reddit, Digg, Delicious, StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTubeAdvertise Here
Apple has hired a new contractor for its new headquarters in Cupertino, stirring up rumors regarding Apple Campus 2’s completion date. According to Silicon Valley Business Journal, Rudolph & Sletten Inc. will complete the buildout of the Campus 2’s interior structure. Until now, DPR Construction Company was expected to finish the project. It’s unclear why Rudolph & Sletten is being brought in and exactly what DPR/Skanska’s involvement will be going forward. Two sources said the DPR-Skanska joint venture would still complete the core and shell — or the basic structure — of the circular building. It’s also possible that DPR and Skanska never intended to do more than the core and shell. It remains unknown if the hire of a new contractor signals a delay in the construction process, or Apple simply needing additional construction horsepower. In fact, Apple already has several different teams of general contractors working on different parts of the project. Reserve Strap has announced that its third-party band for the Apple Watch will charge the device via its hidden diagnostic port.Since release day, we’ve been executing series of tests on the Apple Watch and have some really exciting news to share today. We’ve developed and tested a completely rethought design that takes advantage of the 6 pin port underneath the band slide of the Apple Watch. This port hadn’t been deciphered by anyone until now but we’ve been able to make significant enough observations so far to warrant shifting our development focus to this new method. We’re looking forward to sharing more design details and technical specification of this new Reserve Strap as soon as we can.Share Article:Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Email, Reddit, Digg, Delicious, StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTubeAdvertise Here
