Apple plans on refreshing iOS 9 and OS X 10.11 with the new Apple Watch Font, San Francisco — according to sources that spoke to 9to5mac.Apple-designed San Francisco will replace Helvetica Neue which launched with iOS 7 and OS X Yosemite. Apple developed San Francisco specifically for legibility, which first appeared on the Apple Watch last September. The font reportedly scales more dynamically which allows it to maintain clarity and legibility — regardless of the size.According to the sources familiar with the decision to move to the San Francisco type face on iOS and OS X, Apple higher-ups also believe that the new look will serve to refresh its familiar operating systems, helping iOS and OS X to avoid becoming stale. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revised his forecasted number Apple Watch shipments, citing uncertain demand and supply constrains. Kuo lowered his shipment forecasts be 20% to 30%% to 5-6 million units in the third quarter. Kuo believes Apple will ship 15 million units for the 2015 fiscal year (through September) — much lower than original expectations. KGI securities also conducted a survey to find that most Apple Watch orders are scheduled to ship in June and so far, over 80% of the orders have been for the 42mm model.”We have learned that 42mm Apple Watch accounts for 60-70% of production. However, the shipping times of 38mm models are generally earlier than those of 42mm. We believe this is because demand for 38mm watches is significantly below that of 42mm ones. We estimate that 42mm models account for over 80% of sales. Apple has revealed that it plans to hire 300 to 500 workers, in addition to 150 executive-level positions planned for its Mesa Command Center, reports Phoenix Business Journal. The additional hires will start as contract workers and most will be hired locally. Apple CFO Luca Maestri and other top executives told Mesa Mayor John Giles in Cupertino, California, last week the now firm plans for its East Valley facility are better news than the speculation earlier this year. The 1.2 million-square-foot Apple Mesa data center will be led by a small contingent of Apple executives moving to the Silicon Desert from Silicon Valley.
