Apple Watch Display Under a Microscope [Photo]

Bryan Jones, a retinal neuroscientist and photographer, has posted photos of the Apple Watch display under a microscope. He used the 42mm Apple Watch which has a resolution of 312 x 390 pixels or about 326 pixels per inch for the photos.Interestingly, the Apple Watch pixels look very different from the iPhone pixels. This may be because the Apple Watch display is an AMOLED screen, I don’t know. But what surprised me was the actual pixel imaging sites are quite small in comparison to previous pixels in say, the iPhone. This may have something to do with reducing the current load in a device that is very power sensitive. It seems that almost all conversations at Apple these days center around 3 things*, power/current, which relates directly to heat and this display seems to meet those issues by reducing the size of the power consuming light emitting components while preserving the resolution required to meet “Retina Display” requirements.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Apple Redesigns Packaging of Third Party Accessories Sold in Its Retail Stores

Apple has been working with third-party accessory makers over the past six months to redesign the packaging of products sold in its retail stores, according to 9to5Mac. The new co-designed boxes more closely match the look of Apple’s own products.According to a notice that Apple has sent to retail store employees, new packaging will start to appear on store shelves for accessories from Tech21, Sena, Incase, Mophie, Logitech, and Life Proof. According to the memo, the packaging will be mostly white to match the Mac, iPhone, and Apple Watch boxes, while they will also include simpler fonts, new photography, higher-quality materials, and more consistent compatibility labeling. This shift is yet another in a string for third-parties that has included new environmental guidelines and a ban on leveraging early iPhone leaks.Apple reportedly plans to work with more accessory makers to transition to the new packaging style as it reduces inventory of items that don’t match the new look. The accessory selection in retail stores could be revamped as early as next week.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here
