Global iPhone 6 Costs vs. Median Annual Household Income [Infographic]

Check out this infographic that examines the cost of purchasing an iPhone 6 in various countries by comparing its price to median annual household income. The United States, South Korea, and Luxembourg are the only countries where an iPhone costs less than 2% of the average household income – putting them on the complete opposite end of the spectrum from India, Philippines, and Indonesia, where the cost is over a quarter. In Indonesia in particular, the price ($863.90) is a whopping 39.3% of country’s median yearly income. This means that if an average household chose to spend every cent they made in a given year on phones, they’d only be able to purchase two – while a household in the United States would be able to purchase 63.Take a look at the infographic from webpagefx below…Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Apple Reportedly Granted Ownership Exemption to Open Retail Stores in U.A.E.

Apple has been granted an exemption from foreign ownership laws in the United Arab Emirates to retain 100% control over the operations of its planned retail stores in the country, according to Bloomberg sources. Apple apparently refused to open up shop in the country without the exemption.Under local regulations, all businesses operating in the U.A.E. must be 51 percent owned by Emiratis or a company wholly owned by them unless they are based in free-zones. The government is working on a new foreign investment law that would allow 100 percent foreign ownership in some industries, Minister of Economy Sultan Al Mansoori said in March.“Apple was licensed in the U.A.E. through the Ministry of Economy according to the requirements of, and in compliance with the Commercial Companies Law, as well as the ministerial resolution on foreign company branches,” Ahmad Al-Hosani, director of trade registration at the Ministry of Economy, said in an e-mailed statement to Bloomberg.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Leaked iPhone 6s Rear Shell Bend Test and Aluminum Analysis [Video]

A new video from Unbox Therapy performs a bend test and aluminum material analysis of a leaked rear shell allegedly for the iPhone 6s. A previous video already found that the back plate is both thicker and lighter.First up is an analysis of the aluminum used for the shell. As expected, the aluminum contains a higher presence of zinc pointing to 7000 series aluminum. Apple says its new alloy of 7000 Series aluminum is 60 percent stronger than standard alloys. It appears that the iPhone 6S (and likely the iPhone 6s Plus) will be made out of a completely different alloy than the iPhone 6. Based on the evidence gathered it’s likely that the upcoming iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will utilize a stronger 7000 series aluminum. This change will likely produce a more durable iPhone but it may be more costly to produce.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here
