Apple is planning to remove the iPad Smart Signs used in its retail stores and replace them with new dedicated pricing apps on Mac and iOS devices, reports 9to5Mac.A new app for reading Mac hardware prices, capabilities, and comparing models will be loaded up onto showroom units. The app will be positioned on the left side of the Mac dock and will be fully interactive, like the former Smart Signs. There will be an option to call over an Apple Store employee, like the Smart Signs. As for iOS devices, a similar app will be placed on the Home screens of iPads and iPhones in the stores.The change will affect retail stores across the globe and will launch starting on Wednesday. Swatch CEO Nick Hayek Jr dismissed the Apple Watch as an ‘interesting toy’ in a recent interview with Swiss newspaper Tages-Anzeiger, reports The Guardian. Hayek Jr told the paper that, “The Apple watch is an interesting toy, but not a revolution.” He continues, “These devices, which all eat so much power that they last no longer than 24 hours without needing to be plugged in. Apple CEO Tim Cook made an appearance on Good Morning America today to discuss the company’s involvement in the White House’s ConnectED initiative. The initiative was announced in 2013 and Apple pledged $100 million to the project in February of last year. GMA had posted a misleading tweet yesterday suggesting Cook was to announce a “new plan”.”I think technology has to be a key part [of education] and that’s why we’re here,” Cook said. “Too many times today kids aren’t given the right for a great public education and this isn’t right. Apple is equipping the upcoming iPhone 6s with a 12MP camera that features a five-element lens and a bigger sensor that can take in more light, according to Business Insider sources.Apple is currently ordering suppliers to produce five-element lenses for the iPhone 6S that are designed to work with 12-megapixel camera sensors, a person within Apple’s supply chain told Business Insider.
