Retail Box for the iPhone 6s Plus Leaked? [Photo]

A photo of a yet to be assembled retail box for the iPhone 6s Plus has allegedly been leaked online. The box features what appears to be a yellow and black or gold and black butterfly koi fish on the front of the iPhone’s display. The image which sits on a white background looks similar to some of the wallpapers included with iOS 9. Unfortunately, the clarity of the picture makes it hard to determine if the leak is legitimate. In addition to the picture of the box, cnbeta claims that the battery in the iPhone 6s Plus will be 2750mAh, that’s smaller than the current iPhone 6 Plus battery which is 2910mAh. Of course, Apple may have improved the power consumption of its next generation smartphone so a smaller battery may not translate to less battery life.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Apple Watch Shipments Estimated at 3.6 Million in 2Q15 [Chart]

IDC is reporting that Apple shipped about 3.6 million Apple Watch units in the second quarter of 2015. That puts the company’s wearable shipments just 0.8 million units behind Fitbit’s 4.4 million units. In total, wearable shipments are estimated at 18.1 million units in Q2, up 223.2% from 5.6 million in 2Q14.”Anytime Apple enters a new market, not only does it draw attention to itself, but to the market as a whole,” noted Ramon Llamas, Research Manager for IDC’s Wearables team. “Its participation benefits multiple players and platforms within the wearables ecosystem, and ultimately drives total volumes higher. Apple also forces other vendors – especially those that have been part of this market for multiple quarters – to re-evaluate their products and experiences. Fairly or not, Apple will become the stick against which other wearables are measured, and competing vendors need to stay current or ahead of Apple. Now that Apple is officially a part of the wearables market, everyone will be watching to see what other wearable devices it decides to launch, such as smart glasses or hearables.””About two of every three smart wearables shipped this quarter was an Apple Watch,” said Jitesh Ubrani, Senior Research Aanalyst for IDC Mobile Device Trackers. “Apple has clearly garnered an impressive lead in this space and its dominance is expected to continue. And, although Fitbit outshipped Apple, it’s worth noting that Fitbit only sells basic wearables – a category that is expected to lose share over the next few years, leaving Apple poised to become the next market leader for all wearables.”Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Instagram Announces Support for Landscape and Portrait Photos! [Video]

Instagram has announced that it’s finally adding support for landscape and portrait photos.Today, we’re excited to announce that — in addition to square posts — you can now share photos and videos in both portrait and landscape orientation on Instagram. Square format has been and always will be part of who we are. That said, the visual story you’re trying to tell should always come first, and we want to make it simple and fun for you to share moments just the way you want to. It turns out that nearly one in five photos or videos people post aren’t in the square format, and we know that it hasn’t been easy to share this type of content on Instagram: friends get cut out of group shots, the subject of your video feels cramped and you can’t capture the Golden Gate Bridge from end to end. Now, when choosing a photo or video, you can tap the format icon to adjust the orientation to portrait or landscape instead of square. Once you share the photo, the full-sized version of it will appear to all of your followers in feed in a beautiful, natural way. Mysterious Chip Spotted on Leaked iPhone 6s Display Panel [Photos]

A mysterious chip, likely for Force Touch, has been spotted by MacRumors on a leaked iPhone 6s display panel.A cutout for the chip has been visible on previous leaked photos; however, the new photos are high resolution enough to reveal chip markings. The cutout doesn’t appear to be required for the function of the chip, and it simply seems to be a space-saving issue. With the chip making that area of the display thicker than the rest of the part, the cutout allows the shielding to cover the remainder of the display panel evenly without adding too much thickness. As noted previously, the metal shielding is now glued in place rather than screwed in as on the iPhone 6.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here
