Steve Wozniak: ‘Steve Jobs and I Were Once Robbed at Gunpoint Outside a Pizza Parlor’ [Video]

Steve Wozniak recalls a bizarre robbery on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. In a True Confessions skit, Fallon and Seth Rogen try to guess if a story Woz has told them is real. Woz said that it was 1972 and the two Apple co-founders had just finished a pepperoni pizza in Sunnyvale, California when they were approached by a man with a gun while in their vehicle. The man made the gun visible through the window of the car and stole one of the devices Woz had built to make free calls. Woz and Jobs had shown the man the device in the pizza parlor.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Tim Cook: Apple Will Offer API for Apple TV’s Universal Search

Tim Cook revealed that Apple plans to open an API for the Universal Search feature on the new Apple TV, in an interview with BuzzFeed.“At launch we’ll have iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, Showtime, and HBO — so we’ll have five major inputs into universal search initially,” Cook said. “But we’re also opening an API, so that others can join in.”“I think that many, many people will want to be in that search,” Cook said. “And that’s great for users. Think about your experience today. Even if you’re fortunate enough to have the content you want to watch in an app, you sometimes don’t remember exactly where that show is, so you’re going to Netflix or Hulu or Showtime. You shouldn’t have to do that. It should be very simple.”Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

iPhone 6s vs iPhone 6: Wi-Fi Speed Test [Video]

We’ve posted a new Wi-Fi speed test comparing the 802.11ac (with MIMO) iPhone 6s Plus versus the 802.11ac iPhone 6 Plus. Both devices were freshly restored to iOS 9.0.2 and connected to the 2013 Apple AirPort Extreme. Each iPhone was connected to the AirPort Extreme using a 5GHz-only network. No other devices were connected to the wireless network at the time of the test and the downloads were performed at separate times. We cut them together for comparison. As you will see in the video, there is a substantial speed improvement! Apple has now quadrupled the speed achieved by the iPhone 5s and increased speeds by around 33% from the iPhone 6. Apple says you should theoretically be able to get twice the speeds with MIMO, but we’ve yet to reach that. We peaked at a little over 500Mbps.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

SquareTrade Calculates iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus Breakability Scores [Video]

SquareTrade, the extended warranty, has calculated a breakability score for the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus by dunking, dropping, bending and freezing the new devices.SquareTrade tested the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, as well as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. What did we learn? With the release of the new iPhone 6s Plus, Apple has closed the door on the #bendgate scandal. Meanwhile, no amount of ionized glass can save your phone from a face-down drop on the sidewalk. And when it comes to freezing temperatures, our new Thermo Rig proves that iPhone 6s users may be left out in the cold. The iPhone 6s received a breakability score of 4.5, slightly better than the iPhone 6s Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 5 at a breakability score of 5.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

We were filming on this floating platform in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Apple Signs Massive Deal for New Campus in Sunnyvale? [Images]

Apple has signed a massive deal for Landbank Investments’ planned Central & Wolfe campus, a curvaceous, 777,000-square-foot project at Central Expressway and Wolfe Road in Sunnyvale, reports the Silicon Valley Business Journal. This week, sources with knowledge of the transaction confirmed to me that the deal is completed. Terms of the deal couldn’t immediately be learned, but I’m led to believe that Apple has leased, not purchased, the project. It’s unknown when it could start construction.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here
