Apple has released the tvOS GM seed to developers ahead of new Apple TV 4 that is set to arrive next week. The fourth generation Apple TV features an App Store, a new Siri Remote, tvOS, and much more. It will cost $149 (US) for a 32GB model and $199 (US) for a 64GB model.This is the GM seed version of tvOS for the new Apple TV. iOS 9 Adoption Reaches 61% [Chart]

Apple has announced that adoption of iOS 9 has reached 61%. That’s up from 57% two weeks ago.As measured by the App Store on October 19th, 61% of devices are using iOS 9, 30% of devices are using iOS 8, and 9% of devices are using an earlier firmware version.If you haven’t already updated to iOS 9 you can do so by going to Settings > General > Software Update on your device. Western Digital Announces Acquisition of SanDisk for $19 Billion

Western Digital and SanDisk have announced an agreement under which Western Digital will acquire SanDisk for a combination of cash and stock. The offer values SanDisk common stock at $86.50 per share or a total equity value of approximately $19 billion, using a five-day volume weighted average price ending on October 20, 2015 of $79.60 per share of Western Digital common stock. “This transformational acquisition aligns with our long-term strategy to be an innovative leader in the storage industry by providing compelling, high-quality products with leading technology,” said Steve Milligan, chief executive officer, Western Digital. “The combined company will be ideally positioned to capture the growth opportunities created by the rapidly evolving storage industry. Apple Tells Judge It’s Impossible to Access Data on Locked iPhones Running iOS 8 or Higher

Apple has told a judge that it’s impossible for the company to access data on a locked iPhone running iOS 8 or higher but that it has the ‘technical ability’ to unlock older phones, reports Reuters.The U.S. Justice Department asked the court to force Apple to help authorities access a seized iPhone. Before making a decision, Apple was asked if it technically could access the data. The company said that the request “would be impossible to perform” on 90% of devices.Apple told U.S. Magistrate Judge James Orenstein it could access the 10 percent of its devices that continue to use older systems, including the one at issue in the case.
