GoPro Drops the Price of Its HERO4 Session Camera From $399 to $199

GoPro has announced that it’s dropping the price of its HERO4 Session camera to $199, just half of its original retail price.The HERO4 Session is about the size an ice-cube, weighs only 2.6 ounces and features a simple one-button, waterproof design that can go where no smartphone can. Wearable and gear-mountable, Session is compatible with GoPro’s array of more than 30 accessories including helmet, chest, board, bike, gear and pole mounts. The HERO4 Session is also Bluetooth and WiFi enabled and captures wide-angle 1080p60 video and 8MP photos.”The waterproof HERO4 Session is so durable and easy to use… it’s the perfect way to capture rough-and-tumble family activities this holiday season. Verizon Announces It Will Launch Wi-Fi Calling for iOS Early Next Year

Verizon has announced that it will launch Wi-Fi Calling for iOS devices early next year. However, the company is launching Wi-Fi Calling for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge on December 8th.—–Beginning December 8, Verizon customers with Advanced Calling on two different Samsung smartphones can make and receive calls and initiate video calls over a Wi-Fi Internet connection. Verizon customers already enjoy the largest and most reliable wireless network in the United States, and Advanced Calling with Wi-Fi Calling provides an alternative for those who wish to use Wi-Fi in the home, office or while traveling. Wi-Fi Calling will initially be available on the Samsung Galaxy S 6 and Samsung Galaxy S 6 Edge and will be rolled out as a software update in phases. New Apple Campus 2 Drone Video Shows Construction Progress on Underground Auditorium

A new Apple Campus 2 drone video posted by Duncan Sinfield gives us a look at the construction progress on the company’s underground auditorium.The auditorium will likely serve as Apple’s venue for future keynotes and product unveilings. It will seat about 1,000 people. “No more scheduling months ahead of time around other people’s schedules,” says CEO Tim Cook.In the video you can also see that the four levels of the main ring structure have been erected. The curved glass panels will likely be put in place soon. Samsung Announces It Will Pay Apple $548 Million, Reserves Right to Obtain Reimbursement

Samsung has announced that it will pay Apple $548 million in damages for patent infringement but the company is reserving the right to obtain reimbursement if any judgements are reversed.FOSS Patents notes that last month it was looking like Samsung would appeal to the Supreme Court. IBM Launches Interactive Swift Sandbox

IBM has announced the launch of the IBM Swift Sandbox, an interactive website that lets you write Swift code and execute it in a server environment, on top of Linux.Each sandbox runs on IBM Cloud in a Docker container. Apple to Begin Production of ‘Dramatically’ Faster Next Generation Apple TV in 1Q16?

Apple has already begun work on a fifth generation Apple TV which will enter trial production this month and volume production in the first quarter of 2016, reports DigiTimes. The device is said to utilize a heat-dissipation solution for the first time to handle its new CPU.Apple is planning to adopt a new CPU for the fifth-generation Apple TV to dramatically improve the device’s hardware performance and will add new functions to help it no longer serve only as a set-top box (STB). Some market watchers expect the new Apple TV to achieve 20 million unit shipments in 2016. Production is outsourced to Quanta Computer instead of its existing partner Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry). However, Quanta declined to comment on its clients or orders.The site notes that competition in the area is fierce as Roku, Google, and Amazon are all battling with Apple for market share.
