iPhone SE to Look ‘Almost Exactly the Same’ as the iPhone 5S?

A last minute check with sources reveals that the iPhone SE will look ‘almost exactly the same’ as the iPhone 5S, reports 9to5Mac.This means the phone will include a boxier, not curved, design complete with rounded volume buttons, a power button on the top, a headphone jack, speaker, and microphone on the bottom, and a back with a metal center and a glass bottom and top. We previously reported that the only easily apparent difference would be the product’s edges. There have been mixed reports regarding the look of the new edges, and sources say that while the front edges could be “very slightly” curved, the potential change is not noticeable. Regardless, the iPhone SE’s edges will be less shiny and likely lose the shiny mirror finish that helped make the iPhone 5s prone to scratches. The new 4-inch iPhone is believed to feature a 12MP camera, an A9 chip, NFC, a similar form factor to the iPhone 5s, and slightly curved glass like the iPhone 6, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, Live Photos support, a slightly larger 1642 mAh battery, and storage capacities of 16GB and 64GB. The device is not expected to have support for 3D Touch.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Tim Cook Featured on Cover of TIME Magazine, Interviewed on Encryption Battle With FBI

TIME magazine is featuring Apple CEO Tim Cook on the cover of its March 28th edition, highlighting how important Apple’s battle with the FBI over encryption and the security of our devices has become. The FBI is asking Apple to build a backdoor into the iPhone allowing it to effectively request access to any customer’s data with a warrant. Despite the hundreds of cases around the country where law enforcement is seeking access to an iPhone, the FBI chose to use the San Bernardino shooter’s iPhone as the case to pursue in court. This was likely a well calculated decision to sway public opinion.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Leaked iPhone 7 and iPhone 5 SE Cases Confirm Rumored New Features? [Video]

Check out this hands-on video from Unbox Therapy with leaked cases allegedly for the iPhone 7 and the rumored 4-inch iPhone 5 SE.Notably, the case for the iPhone 7 appears to confirm rumors we’ve posted about the device. The cutout for the camera is significantly larger with a slightly different placement suggesting that perhaps we’ll see a dual lens camera. The cutout for the Lightning port is also changed hinting that perhaps Apple could equip the device with a Smart Connector. Finally, the cutout where the headphone jack is placed on the iPhone 6s is smaller and doesn’t allow you to insert headphones. This lines up with reports that Apple will drop the headphone jack and offer the iPhone 7 with stereo speakers. While the iPhone 7 isn’t expected until this fall, Apple is believed to be unveiling the iPhone SE on March 21st.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here

Google Cloud Lands Apple as a Customer

Just four months after Google enlisted Diane Greene as its SVP of cloud businesses, Google Cloud Platform has landed Apple as customer, reports CRN.Since inking the Google deal late last year, Apple has also significantly reduced its reliance on Amazon Web Services, whose infrastructure it uses to run parts of iCloud and other services, said the sources, who all requested anonymity to protect their relationships with the vendors. Despite having its own data centers, Apple is said to also be a customer of Microsoft’s and Amazon’s cloud services. The company has not abandoned AWS entirely and remains a customer, say sources.Share Article:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Email,   Reddit,   Digg,   Delicious,   StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook,   Twitter,   LinkedIn,   Google Plus,   Newsletter,   App Store,   YouTubeAdvertise Here
