Today Hulu announced a new commercial-free viewing option for its subscribers, offering a new $11.99 commercial-free plan. Current Hulu Plus subscribers can upgrade to the commercial-free viewing experience for $4 more. Hulu will continue to offer its $7.99 plan, which offers “limited commercials” when compared to live, scheduled television. “At Hulu, we pride ourselves on listening to our customers and giving them the best possible experience,” said Mike Hopkins, CEO, Hulu. “Many of our customers have asked us for a commercial free option, and so today we are excited to introduce just that. Providing more choice for consumers is fundamental to the Hulu experience, in addition to an array of choices in content and devices, our customers can now choose to watch with or without commercials.”Hulu’s move brings it in-line with other streaming services. Netflix offers a commercial-free viewing experience for just $8.99, while Amazon Prime Video includes its video streaming service with any Prime membership.
