Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has announced that the company will write off $7.6 billion from its acquisition of Nokia Devices and Services and cut 7,800 jobs primarily in their phone business. The news comes via a memo to employees in which Nadella revealed plans for the company’s long term growth. The job cuts will take place over the next few months; however, Nadella says he is still committed to first-party devices including phones. “We are moving from a strategy to grow a standalone phone business to a strategy to grow and create a vibrant Windows ecosystem that includes our first-party device family.”Share Article:Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Email, Reddit, Digg, Delicious, StumbleUponFollow iClarified:Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google Plus, Newsletter, App Store, YouTubeAdvertise Here
