Early benchmarks for the new 12-inch MacBook show about a 15% increase in performance, reports John Poole, founder of Primate Labs and Geekbench.Poole tweeted out a 32-bit comparison of new vs old MacBook with the new MacBook scoring 2670 on the single core test versus 2303 for the previous generation. On the multi-core test the new MacBook scored 5252 versus 4621 for the older device. A 64-bit test by Christina Warren reached a single-core score of 2894 and a multi-core score of 5845. Both tests were conducted on a 1.2 GHz model.
