New MacBooks to Adopt Metal Injection Molding-Made Hinges?

Apple is preparing to launch new ultra-thin MacBooks in the second half of 2016 that adopt metal injection molding-made (MIM) hinges, reports DigiTimes.Taiwan component makers are competing to land orders for the device. US-based Amphenol is said to have recently joined the supply chain and will likely take orders away from existing partners Shin Zu Shing (SZS) and Jarllytec.
