Is your Apple Magic Mouse loosing connection?

Having issues losing connection with your Apple Magic Mouse? Well I was having that very same issue then started searching for possible solutions. My Magic Mouse was not staying connect to both my MacBook Pro & my wife’s MacBook Air.  My Apple Wireless Keyboard was working just fine so this led me to believe that there was an issue with the mouse hardware.  I searched on the web to find a few articles on the Apple discussion board about the batteries not always fitting correctly. Well with spring loaded connections I found that hard to believe. I did take out the batteries to play around with them.  But the  LED was always blinking showing that it found not find a connection.  Or it would connect, then disconnect 1-5 sec later. The computer had enough time to register that the batteries were at 100% power.

Then I found one other blog about bluetooth interference from other devices.  My iPhone 4s & my wife’s iPhone 5 were in the other room. I did not think there was a chance this this was the cause. But for the process on illumination I turned off the bluetooth from both phones, and ding.  The Apple Wireless Mouse works perfect again.  Thinking back I only turned on the bluetooth because of our new cars having bluetooth. I’ll have to keep turing it off when I want to use my wireless mouse (I’m not using a different mouse).

In conclusion if you have bluetooth enables on your phone it may interfere with your Magic Mouse.  Your Apple Wireless Keyboard & Apple Wireless Toutchpad will not be affected. The devise are running of a similar frequency causing interference.  Apple? Why didn’t you think of this? I guess my mouse is not as magical as I had hoped. But I still love it.

AirFoil – Stream sound from any app from Mac/Win to Apple TV

Love my Apple, however a daily feed is too much, scaling it back.

Just got AirFoil setup to stream all my sound from my MacBook to my Bose stereo via Apple TV. Great a app, no hacking needed on the Apple TV.  Besides streaming iTunes you can stream sound from any app or from your whole system with this app.  But playing sound from games I do not suggested so far, it’s delayed a few sec from the action on your screen.  Very nice sound quality, sounds just like it would if streamed from iPhone with Pandora for example.  Currently I’m using AirFoil it to stream Pandora from Google Crome.

iphone themes: two thumbs down

OMG.. I’m so tired of bothering with themes with the iPhone. It slows down your phone and is just not worth it.  The reason for an iPhone is “it just works”. No bothering with BS phone resets, no needing to kill apps all the time.  Yes I’ve JB for the WIFI feature, but thats is really the only reason, and some custom sounds.  Till Apple has it’s own skinning app, I’m done with themes. Removed all theme/Winterboard skins, and my iPhone is running at full speed again. #justsaynotoiphonethemes

PS loving all the new iOS 5 features.. can’t wait!

Startup Applications List – MSCONFIG

If you’re frustrated with the time it takes your Windows PC to boot and then it seems to be running slowly you may have too many programs running at start-up – check out this site. This is the original startup programs (as opposed to processes/tasks) list – one of the most comprehensive and most accurate!

As there are more than 10,000 entries in this database related to viruses, trojans, worms and other malware I recommend you use a quality internet security package. Which ever you choose, keep it updated.

NOTE: This is NOT a database of tasks/processes taken from Task Manager or the Close Program window (CTRL+ALT+DEL) but a database of startup applications.

Testing WordPress for iPhone 2.0

The is the 2nd time I’m writing my first post from WordPress of iPhone 2.0. First time it errored out when saving.. “Connection lost”.

Over all so far I like the layout.. Had an issue when first setting up app. I was getting NSXMLParserErrorDomain error 40 when adding my site info. I was getting other parser errors with the old version, that’s why I’ve been waiting for version 2.0 to come out. I had to disable all wordpress plugins & set the theme to the default. Then I was able to add my site info to the app. After testing the app I have now re-enabled my plugings and enabled my favorite theme one by one. After re-enabling every thing the app is still working 🙂

The new version is not an upgrade, if you have an old version, remove it then look for “wordpress 2” in the app store. The app has a landscape keyboard mode for typing posts. One suggestion is that the app save a local copy on the iPhone when you are editing a post, so if you get an error when saving you can retry. I’m most likely going to hit save often… Being the nut I am when I hit save in excel 10 times a minute.

Now that I have the WordPress iPhone app up and running I believe I’m going to love it!! 🙂   http://iphone.wordpress.org/
